About the imageFORCE 6170

The imageFORCE 6170 is the flagship of Canon's 6100 series — a 70-page-per-minute black-and-white A3 multifunction system built for enterprise environments that need high print volumes, fast and precise scanning, and digital workflow integration. It is the quickest model in the lineup on every count: 70 ppm on letter, 42 ppm on letter-rotated, 40 ppm on legal, 35 ppm on 11 × 17, and a first copy in as little as 2.7 seconds.

Canon's D² Exposure technology uses OLED solid-state imaging to reach 4800 × 2400 dpi, with sharp, uniform images and deep black-and-white tones. The single-pass duplex scanner captures both sides of a page in full color at up to 270 images per minute and sends searchable PDFs or editable Word and PowerPoint files to email, folders, USB, or the cloud. Print from Windows, Mac, iOS, Android, and Chrome OS devices with AirPrint, Mopria, Universal Print, or the Canon PRINT app — no driver required. Paper capacity starts at 1,200 sheets and grows to 6,350 with optional cassettes and decks; the lower cassette and multipurpose tray handle stock up to 12 × 18, and a long-sheet tray option runs banners to 51.25 inches.

Every imageFORCE model shares the same 10.1-inch touchscreen interface and Canon's Unified Firmware Platform, so the device keeps gaining features through regular updates and anyone trained on one imageFORCE can run another. Print, copy, scan, send, and store are standard; fax (up to four lines) is optional.

    OLED solid-state exposure delivers 4800 × 2400 dpi resolution with sharp, uniform images and deep black-and-white tones — fine text, forms, and contracts stay crisp at 70 pages a minute.

  • Full-color duplex scanning to searchable files

    The printer is black-and-white, but the scanner is full color: both sides of a page in one pass at up to 270 ipm from the 200-sheet feeder, to email, network folders, USB, mobile devices, or the cloud as searchable PDF, PDF/A, or editable Word and PowerPoint files.

  • Print from any device

    AirPrint, Mopria, IPP Everywhere, Canon PRINT, Universal Print, and the optional Cloud Connector — phones, tablets, and laptops print without a driver install. PCL, PostScript 3, and UFR II are standard.

  • Security designed into the device

    Secure Print and Forced Hold keep jobs at the device until the owner signs in by PIN, password, picture, card, or mobile. Verify System at Startup checks firmware for tampering, storage is encrypted to FIPS 140-3 on a TPM 2.0 platform, Trellix™ Embedded Control whitelists what can run, and SIEM integration feeds your monitoring.

  • Media and finishing that fit the job

    Runs stock from 14 lb bond to 110 lb cover, envelopes, and sheets up to 12 × 18 — or 51.25-inch banners with the long-sheet option. Optional inner, staple, and booklet finishers add stapling to 65 sheets, hole punching, saddle-stitched booklets, and C-, V-, and Z-folds.

    A large 10.1-inch responsive touchscreen with color-coded icons and customizable language, accessibility, and display settings — the same on every imageFORCE model, so staff trained on one can run another.
