imagePROGRAF TM-600A 36-inch TM Series printer for E-size drawings and posters, ready to roll in on its own stand.
Best for: Small offices, schools, and retail locations that print occasional D- and E-size drawings and in-house posters
Overview
The imagePROGRAF TM-600 is the 36-inch entry model in Canon's new TM Series, built for CAD drawings, E-size plans, posters, banners, and flyers. It prints up to 2.7 ARCH D (24 × 36 inch) pages a minute from one top-loading roll 8 to 36 inches wide, and it ships with its stand and catch basket, so it is ready to stand on the floor from day one.
Its five-color LUCIA TD pigment ink set includes an updated Matte Black that produces crisper lines, sharper text, and more vivid posters on plain paper than the previous TM Series. Gravity-fed sub ink tanks use virtually every drop and can be changed while the printer keeps printing, the printer detects media type, length, and width automatically when you load a roll, and every control is at the front of the machine. At about 39 dB(A) while printing, it is quiet enough for an open office.
Security is built in, with Secure Boot, TLS 1.3, SNMPv3, 802.1X, a secure event log, pattern printing, and PIN code authorization. USB, Gigabit Ethernet, and Wi-Fi are standard, Mopria and AirPrint let people print from phones and tablets without installing drivers, and PosterArtist, Direct Print Plus, Free Layout Plus, and Accounting Manager are included. The TM-600 is EPEAT Gold registered, ENERGY STAR certified, and Mopria certified.
Key features
Matte black, black, cyan, magenta, and yellow pigments. The updated Matte Black produces crisper lines, sharper text, and more vivid posters on plain paper than the previous TM Series.
A flat-body design keeps roll loading simple, and media loading, ink changes, and the adjustable touchscreen are all at the front. The stand and catch basket are included.
Feed in a roll and the printer determines the media type, length, and width on its own and shows them on the display.
Gravity-fed ink tanks let the printer use virtually every drop, and you can change a tank while the printer keeps printing.
Secure Boot restores a known-good BIOS if tampering is detected, TLS 1.3 encrypts data between computer and printer, and SNMPv3, 802.1X, a secure event log, pattern printing, and PIN code authorization help protect the device and your documents.
Mopria Print Service connects Android and Windows devices without installing drivers, AirPrint covers iPhone and iPad, and USB, Gigabit Ethernet, and Wi-Fi are built in.
Buying guide
The imagePROGRAF TM-600 is for offices that need full 36-inch width but do not print all day: small architecture, engineering, and construction firms that print E-size sheets for review, schools and corporate spaces, and retail, restaurant, and real estate offices that make their own posters and signs. It reads CAD files natively through HP-GL/2 and HP RTL, the updated Matte Black keeps fine lines crisp on plain paper, and the stand and catch basket come in the box.
The trade-off is ink capacity and speed. Like the 24-inch TM-500, the TM-600 ships with 55 ml color tanks and an 80 ml Matte Black and uses 55 ml replacement tanks, which suits light to moderate printing. If you print every day, the TM-610 takes 130 ml or 300 ml tanks and runs faster at 3.2 D-size prints a minute, and the TM-610M adds a built-in scanner for copying drawings.
The TM-500 is the 24-inch version of the TM-600, with the same five LUCIA TD inks and 55 ml tanks; it is about 12 inches narrower, prints 2.4 D-size pages a minute versus 2.7, and can sit on a desktop, with the stand sold separately.
See the Canon imagePROGRAF TM-500The TM-610 matches the TM-600's 36-inch width and footprint but ships with 130 ml Matte Black and 90 ml color tanks, takes 130 ml or 300 ml replacements, prints 3.2 D-size pages a minute, and swaps the catch basket for a stackable basket; the TM-610M also builds in a scanner.

The GP-300 is built for signage, with Fluorescent Pink ink, a 500 GB hard drive, and USB thumb-drive printing, while the TM-600 centers on CAD drawings with HP-GL/2 support and an updated Matte Black for crisp lines on plain paper.
